Our Year 6 Mini Vinnies had an incredible morning visiting Tarragal Glen Nursing Home
Today, our Mini Vinnies had the opportunity to learn about the power of reaching out and giving back to others by generously sharing their time. Their enthusiasm was palpable as they engaged with the residents, discussing sports, hobbies, and eagerly listening to the stories of their lives.
Afterwards, Sally, the Coordinator at Tarragal Glen, spoke to our children and commended them on their maturity and positive interaction with the residents. She emphasized how their presence had made a significant impact in such a short time. We couldn’t be prouder of our Year 6 Mini Vinnies for representing our school with immense pride and compassion.
During our post-visit discussion, the children expressed genuine interest and compassion for the residents. They described the experience as overwhelmingly positive and eagerly look forward to their next visit! It’s heartwarming to witness their empathy and eagerness to make a difference in the lives of others.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Joe, our dedicated parishioner, who graciously drove the mini-bus, making this visit possible. Your support is deeply appreciated and essential in fostering these meaningful connections between our students and the community.
